Transition to all electronic internal news system begins

Efforts to expand the use of electronic news and internal communication and phase out the use of printed publications, including WSU Today, will begin Monday, Feb. 16.

The first of several phases in that plan includes:

• Launching a daily e-mail bulletin, titled WSU Today Update, which will provide headline links to news articles universitywide. The bulletin will be sent to all university employees and graduate students beginning Feb. 16.

• Adding features and services to the WSU Today website to better meet employee needs and to take advantage of Web 2.0 technology.

• Delivering WSU Announcements once daily to all faculty, staff and graduate students statewide.

• Redesigning WSU Announcements in an improved HTML/graphic format.

“Internal communication is critical to the efficient operations of this university and our ability to achieve our strategic goals,” said President Elson S. Floyd. “I encourage all employees to use the services of WSU Announcements and WSU Today to stay abreast of university news and information.”
