Donation expands book-swap options

A book exchange at the WSU Spokane library received a jump start with the donation of more than 200 works of fiction and nonfiction.

Faculty, staff and student readers are encouraged to swap and donate books on the “Leisure Reading” shelves at the Riverpoint Campus, said Bob Pringle, director of Riverpoint and nursing library services.

“There’s no requirement to return the books, but we encourage WSU staff to donate as many as they want and hopefully find books that interest them,” he said.

The Riverpoint library didn’t have resources to support the book exchange until the mother of a staff member coordinated efforts, he said. That resulted in the donation from Friends of the North Spokane County Library.

The book exchange shelves are temporarily on the south wall of the third floor of the library in the Academic Center. Once the Riverpoint and nursing libraries converge, the exchange will be moved to the second floor.
