SPOKANE – The WSU College of Business has announced that Morag Stewart, Ph.D., has joined the college as the director of the newly-launched Executive MBA program in Spokane.
As the program’s director, Stewart is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the program in addition to advising and recruiting students, and partnering with greater Spokane-area businesses to promote and market the program and its benefits to the regional marketplace.
“Morag’s leadership for the Executive MBA program will be a great asset to both the College of Business and to the university,” says CB Dean Eric Spangenberg. “Her breadth of experience, understanding of the global business marketplace, and her existing relationships within the greater Spokane/North Idaho region will help the program to be initially successful and provide a launching pad for the growth of our professional education opportunities.”

Prior to accepting this new position, Stewart served as dean of The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (2005-2007); directed MBA programs at Eastern Washington University and Erasmus University in the Netherlands; and held faculty positions in both the USA and Europe – including a position at WSU’s Swiss Center for Hotel and Restaurant Administration in Brig, Switzerland. She earned her bachelor of science (B.Sc.) from St. Andrews University (Scotland) and both her MBA and Ph.D. in business administration from Arizona State University.
Executive MBA courses begin this fall at the Spokane Riverpoint Campus. The program is designed to allow mid-career managers to attend MBA courses while remaining in their current positions. Course content includes online and classroom components and a 10-day trip to China to study global business. It is the only Executive MBA program in Eastern Washington.
