Coffee break discussion focuses on diversity

A “Coffee Break Discussion” panel focusing on cultures and diversity within the WSU community will be held 10-11:30 a.m. Wednesday,
March 19, in Room 2025 of the Information Technology Building. The event, open to all interested, is sponsored by Area 25 Diversity Awareness Group.

The discussion will feature WSU community members who have lived and/or worked in a culture other than their own. The event is designed to:

-Deepen your understanding of what it means to be a stranger in a strange land.
-Provide insights about the challenge of sharing a workplace with colleagues whose language you have not mastered
-Probe the emotional impact of living among people with interpersonal dynamics, social codes and manners very different from your own

Panelists will take questions and invite audience members to share their own experiences.

Coffee and light refreshments will be provided.

The Area 25 Diversity Awareness Group sponsors activities on a bimonthly basis to raise diversity awareness among WSU employees and students.
