Vancouver – As part of continuing growth plans, WSU Vancouver is adding 10 new faculty members this fall. In alphabetical order, they are:

 

George Fletcher, assistant professor of computer science, previously with Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind., with research interest in core problems in data management.
 

Ginny Guido, assistant dean and regional director of nursing program, most recently from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, N.D.

Edward Hagen, assistant professor of anthropology, most recently from Humboldt-Universitaet zu Berlin, Germany, with research interest in biosocial approaches to mental health emphasizing political, economic and social dimensions of clinical depression and child growth in Amazonia; addiction; conceptual foundations of evolutionary biology and their application to human cognition behavior.
 

Stephen Henderson, assistant professor of environmental geophysics, most recently from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in San Diego, Calif., with research interest in marine sediment transport and coastal hydrodynamics.

Thabiti Lewis, assistant professor of English, most recently from Willamette University, Portland, Ore., where he chaired the American Ethnic studies program. Current research and teaching interests are 20th century American literature, specializing in African-American literature.

Sheen Liu, assistant professor of finance, most recently from Youngstown State University, Youngstown, Ohio. 

Rebecca Portnoy, assistant professor of management, most recently from the University of Washington in Seattle, with research interest in self-perception and self-presentation of employees.

Stephen Solovitz, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, most recently from the University of Portland and Portland State University.
Darryl Wood, assistant professor of criminal justice, most recently from the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Wei Xue, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, most recently from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
