WSU Libraries celebrates 100 years

WSU Libraries is celebrating 100 years as a federal depository library. On Wednesday, April 11, they will recognize the 100 years of service to campus in Terrell Atrium at 10:30 a.m.

Brief remarks will be made by Acting Director Cindy Kaag and a represetnative of Senator Patty Murray. Following the remarks, anniversay cake will be passed out.

On March 1, 2007 WSU Libraries celecrated their 100th anniversay as a federal depository library. A member of the FEderal Depository Library Program since 1907, the libraries currently receive 70 percent of the documents distributed by the Government Printing office, much of it now linked to full-text in the Griffin Catalog.

 
The WSU Libraries also collect and make freely available government documents that people need to make informed choices about their government and lives. Along with 1250 other depository libraries, the WSU Libraries collect, organize, maintain, preserve, and assist users with federal information.
