Approximately 150 students, faculty and staff crowded into the CUB Cascade Room Tuesday afternoon, March 8, for the Vice Presidents’ Forum.
At the event were a large number of students who asked questions and made comments regarding the outcome of a recent conduct hearing addressing allegations of racial harassment. The meeting, which usually lasts about one hour, went on for more than two hours, with a standing room only crowd.
On the Vice Presidents’ Forum panel were Steve Desoer, director of Human Resource Services; Charlene Jaeger, vice president of Student Affairs; Michael Tate, vice president for Equity and Diversity; Sally Savage, vice president for University Relations; and Mary Doyle, vice president for Information Systems.
At 3 p.m. that afternoon, President V. Lane Rawlins, Jaeger and Provost Robert Bates were slated to meet with approximately six WSU students who will be representing other students regarding concerns about harassment, diversity and racism.
