American Red Cross Blood Drive March 30 at WSU

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University’s Office of Business Affairs will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive on from noon to 6 p.m. March 30 in the Lighty Student Services Building, Room 405.

According to coordinators, the Red Cross is, and always has been, the sole blood supplier to the three community hospitals in the Palouse area, including Pullman Memorial Hospital, Gritman Memorial Hospital in Moscow and Whitman Hospital in Colfax.

“We’d like to get at least 96 units of blood donated,” said Marsha Turnbull, health education coordinator for WSU Health and Wellness Services. “So whoever didn’t participate in our blood drive last month, now is the time to come out and give blood.”

Blood donors must be in good general health, weigh at least 110 pounds and be at least 18 years old. A photo ID is required at the time of donation.

Call WSU Health and Wellness Services at (509) 335-5759 to schedule a donation appointment. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are recommended.

Pullman Memorial Hospital will provide refreshments to all donors. Donors should eat a good meal and drink plenty of water before donating.
