WSU Events Planned for Cougar Faithful in Pasadena

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University fans planning a trip to Pasadena and the Rose Bowl will be have the opportunity to mingle with fellow Cougars at several events surrounding the “granddaddy of them all.”

On Monday, Dec. 30, fans can participate in the 2003 Sterling Savings Bank WSU Bowl Golf Classic at 8 a.m. at Brookside Golf Course, Course #2, located at 1133 N. Rosemont Ave., adjacent to Rose Bowl Stadium. The $100 entry fee includes cart rental, lunch and tee prize. President’s Associates are invited to attend a Rose Bowl reception from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30. The event will be at Gotham Hall Sports Bar, 1431 3rd Street Promenade (near the Santa Monica Pier) in Santa Monica. Tickets for adults are $40 in advance and $65 at the door, children age 3-12 are $30 and children under 3 are free. Tickets are available by calling Traci Tyacke at the WSU Foundation at (800) 448-2978 or (509) 335-1386 and must be purchased with a Mastercard or Visa. The deadline for advance purchase is Dec. 23. Space is limited.

Cougars and supporters can attend the Rose Bowl Kick-Off Luncheon and Hall of Fame Induction from noon-2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31 at the tent in parking lot K, adjacent to Rose Bowl Stadium. The price is $50 per person. Ticket sales will be limited to the first 500 tickets purchased and are available through WSU Athletics at (509) 335-0205 or (509) 335-0320. Tickets must be purchased before 5 p.m. Dec. 23. No tickets will be sold the day of the event.

Fans can show off their school spirit at the 4 p.m. Cougar Pep Rally on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at the Santa Monica Pier. The event is free and open to the public and will be emceed by Glenn Johnson, the “Stadium Voice of the Cougars.” The Cougar football team and coaches, and the WSU Marching Band and Spirit Squad will be in attendance. Food vendors and the Bookie will be onsite.

On game day (Jan. 1), fans can show their Cougar pride as the WSU Alumni Association invites Cougar fans to the pre-game tent party from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Brookside Country Club golf course, adjacent to the Rose Bowl. The cost is $50 for adults, $25 for children age 4-12 and children under age three are free. Ticket sales are limited to the first 10,000 tickets purchased. The price of the ticket includes food, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, live entertainment and appearances by the cheer squad and Butch, the WSU mascot. Tickets are available through TicketsWest at (800) 325-7328 or at www.ticketswest.com. (In the “search” box, type in “Rose Bowl Pre-game party.” This will generate a link to purchase tickets for the event.) Tickets must be purchased before midnight, Dec. 23. Orders after Dec. 18 will be available at will call at the event entrance on the day of the event. No tickets will be sold the day of the event.
