WSU Music Faculty Recital March 3

PULLMAN, Wash. — Faculty and staff of the Washington State University School of Music and Theatre Arts will perform at 3 p.m., March 3, in Bryan Hall Theater.

The Faculty Chamber Music Recital will feature voice and instrumental solos, as well as small group performances. The concert will open with Georg-Philipp Telemann’s “Three Heroic Marches.” David Turnbull will perform on trumpet and Jill Schneider on organ. The duo will continue with Flor Peeters’ sonata “Aria.”

Julie Anne Wieck, soprano; Meredith Arksey, violin; and Michelle Mielke, piano, make up the trio that will perform W.A. Mozart’s “Schon lacht der holde Fruhling.” Ann Yasinitsky, flute, will then perform “Image” by Eugene Bozza.

The WSU Faculty Brass Quintet, composed of Turnbull, trumpet; Katy Vogt, trumpet; Jonathan Kirk, horn; Don Hower, trombone; and Keating Johnson, tuba will perform Giles Farnaby’s collection, “Fancies, Toyes and Dreames,” arranged by Elgar Horvath. The concert will close with “Duo for Alto Sax and Electric Bass” by Thanos Mikroutsikos and performed by Yiannis Miralis, alto sax, and Gus Kambeitz, electric bass.
