PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University will offer a concert series open to the public without charge this summer.
The Office of Student Programs is presenting 10 concerts as part of its Music on the Mall series. Unless otherwise stated, all concerts take place from noon-1 p.m. Thursdays on Glenn Terrell Mall. In case of rain, performances will be in the Compton Union Building Lair. The CUB food service will sell barbecued food in conjunction with the performances.
Local hip-hop artist Tyrant takes the stage first with a performance June 7. The alternative-rock band Evren Goknar is next June 14. Pint & Dale (William Pint and Felicia Dale) will perform Renaissance music at noon on the mall and at 7 p.m. on the plaza atop Holland Library June 21.
The Kingpins rock-and-roll band can be seen at the annual Independence Day evening celebration July 4 at Sunnyside Park. The following day local folksinger Dan Maher performs at noon at the mall. On July 11, the Toucans Steel Band will be on the mall at noon and in Reaney Park at 5:30 p.m. as part of the community barbecue series. Melodic rock performer Jim Basnight will entertain at noon on the mall and at 7 p.m. atop Holland Library July 19. Pure jazz vocalist Julie Silvera will conclude the series with a performance July 26.
