Dad’s Weekend Activities Planned for Oct. 20-22

PULLMAN, Wash. — A full array of activities is planned at Washington State University this weekend, Oct. 20-22, as the Cougars celebrate Dad’s Weekend.

Several open houses are scheduled, including one at the Museum of Anthropology for the exhibit “Indian Summers” Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on the first floor of College Hall. Ferdinand’s, the WSU Creamery, will hold an open house Friday from 9:30 a.m.-4:40 p.m. and again Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Science and Murrow Hall greenhouses will also be open Friday from 2-5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Also holding an open house will be the WSU Visitor Center at the Cougar Depot in downtown Pullman from 8 a.m. to one hour after the football game Saturday. General admission tickets, parking information, WSU souvenirs and refreshments also are available.

The Cougar football team will battle the Arizona State Sun Devils in Martin Stadium at 2 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are available at 509/335-9626.

Several other free sports events are scheduled for the weekend. The women’s soccer team battles UCLA at 3 p.m. Friday and USC at noon Sunday. Both games are at the Cougar Soccer Field. The women’s swim team takes on South Carolina at Gibb Pool in the Physical Education Building at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Two vocal performances are set for the weekend. Vocal Extravaganza will take place at 8 p.m. Friday in the Bryan Hall Auditorium. Concert Choir, University Singers, Madrigal Singers, Vocal Jazz and Opera Workshop will perform. Tickets are $5 and are available at the door starting at 6 p.m. or in advance in the Kimbrough Hall Lobby Thursday and Friday.

“M-PACT,” a Seattle-based a cappella group, will perform at Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum Theatre at 8 p.m. Saturday. Tickets may be purchased at the coliseum box office, 335-1514, or by calling 1-800/325-SEAT.
