PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University offers its first Western Power Delivery
Automation Conference April 6-8 at the DoubleTree Hotel City Center in Spokane. The
conference is meant to help power companies and utilities learn how to reduce costs and
increase reliability of service to their customers.
In the wake of a deregulating power industry and growing competitive market, power
managers seek to reduce personnel and increase technological advantages by implementing
substation automation. The conference will focus on issues of automation and the control of
power system substations, appealing to engineers, managers, service providers, technologists
and others who plan, design and implement power delivery automation. Manufacturers, vendors
and power automation providers will exhibit at the conference.
The conference is sponsored by WSU’s School of Electrical Engineering and Computer
Science, the College of Engineering and Architecture, and Conferences & Institutes. Registration
