Auditions Set for WSU Summer Theater Plays June 6-7

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University Summer Palace organizers are looking for men, women and children of all ages to audition for two Gilbert and Sullivan musicals that make up the 33rd annual summer theater series.
Auditions for “The Sorcerer” and “The Mikado” are planned for Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m.-noon and from 1:30-4 p.m. On Sunday, June 7, auditions will be held from 1:30-4 p.m. All auditions are scheduled for Wadleigh Little Theater.
Those who audition should prepare a serious or comic monologue and a song not to exceed six minutes. Accompaniment will not be provided, so participants can bring a cassette tape or sing a cappella. Those interested should call Barbara Jones at 335-7447 to arrange an audition time.
“The Sorcerer” will be presented at 8 p.m. at Bryan Hall Auditorium on June 26 and 27 and on July 2, 3, 10 and 11. “The Mikado” will follow on July 16, 17, 23, 25, 31 and Aug. 1, also at 8 p.m. at Bryan Hall Auditorium.
Ticket sales will take place from 1-4:30 p.m. in Bryan Hall, Room 160B each weekday beginning June 8. The ticket box office number is 335-7236. Tickets can also be purchased at the box office before each show.
Free parking is available after 5 p.m. in Thompson Hall lot, on the surrounding streets and in the Student’s Book Corporation’s parking lot. Parking is also available at Holland Library for $1 per hour.
