PULLMAN, Wash.- Washington State University’s Vocal Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Big Band plan a concert Tuesday, Feb. 10, in WSU’s Bryan Hall Auditorium. The 8 p.m. program is open to the public without charge.
The concert includes blues, ballads and Latin jazz. The show features Sammy Cahn’s and Julie Styne’s “Time After Time,” Dennis DiBlasio’s “Jalapeno Dreams,” and two Gregory Yasinitsky originals, “Blue Note,” and the ballad “New York Confidential,” which premieres at the concert.
Daniel Bukvich directs the Vocal Jazz Ensemble and Yasinitsky, the Jazz Big Band.
Featured soloists include vocalist Jamie Robinson, pianist Sonja Ramirez, flutist Franji Holland, trombonist Nathan Crow, drummer Chris Earley, percussionist Greg Henion, trumpeters Greg Duncan and Darin Graber, bassists Tracie King and Roger Shew, and saxophonists Jeremy Hamilton, Eric Skidmore and Steve Erwin.
