PULLMAN, Wash.—Washington State University alumni, friends, and industry partners contributed $154,346,752 system-wide during Fiscal Year 2024, which ended June 30. This marks the third consecutive year WSU fundraising topped $150 million and is the second-best fundraising year in WSU history.

“Philanthropy like this cannot happen without the passion, commitment, and partnership of the 25,855 incredible donors who chose to generously invest in WSU’s faculty, staff, and students during FY24,” said Mike Connell, vice president of WSU Advancement and CEO of the WSU Foundation. “Through their investment, WSU is better positioned to make a difference for the communities it serves by preparing the next generation of leaders, advancing discovery and innovation, and delivering outreach across the state.”

During FY24, donors supported over 1,000 different projects, initiatives, and funds system-wide, benefiting the work of students and faculty in every college and at each of the university’s six campuses, as well as research and extension centers across the state. In addition, the WSU Foundation distributed $25,949,096 from its endowment to support scholarships, research, and other programs university-wide.

“Thank you to everyone who has chosen to invest in WSU’s future,” said WSU System President Kirk Schulz. “Even as WSU has experienced significant headwinds throughout the last year, our alumni and friends continue to demonstrate that there is something special about the Cougar family.”

A few fundraising highlights from across WSU during FY24:

  • Endowed deanship at Carson College: The Phyllis J. Campbell Endowed Deanship in the Carson College of Business is the result of a generous gift from Phyllis ’73 and Bill ’69 Campbell of Issaquah.
  • #CougsGive: WSU’s annual day of giving on April 17 saw 1,556 gifts totaling $648,507 in just 24 hours. Since the first #CougsGive event in 2015, WSU donors have contributed more than $4.5 million in charitable gifts.
