Global WSU Week Underway

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University’s Global WSU Week
continues through Saturday, April 8, on the Pullman campus.

The week-long international celebration is organized by the United Council of
International Organizations and features several programs to expand global
recognition, understanding and responsibility.

Amnesty International is hosting a “Stop Children Soldiers” letter-writing
campaign from noon-1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, at the Compton Union
Building entrance on Terrell Mall.

WSU faculty member Ray Jussaume and representatives from the Anime Club
will speak at the Japanese Animation Talk at 7 p.m. April 5. “Black Jack,”
“Episode One” and “Naussica, of Valley of the Wind” will be shown in Wilson
Hall, Room 13.

The International Banquet and Awards Ceremony Saturday at McCroskey Hall
is open to all students. E-mail plam@wsu.edu to make a reservation for the 6
p.m. event. A dance hosted by McCroskey Hall will follow at 9 p.m.

Participating organizations include the African Friendship Association,
Amnesty International, the Anime Club, the Association of Pagan Students,
Communication Across Culture, Gamma Alpha Omega, the International
Apparel and Textile Club, the International Business Club, the Japan Club, the
Judo Club, the Korean Student Association, the Malaysian and Indonesian
Student Association, McCrosky Hall, M.E.Ch.A., and the World Travelers’
Club.

Sponsors are ASWSU, the International Business Department, and the
International Programs Office.
