Lots open to residents during vacation breaks

PULLMAN – Residents are being asked to not leave their cars parked on College Hill streets during WSU vacation breaks.

That way, City of Pullman crews can keep up on street maintenance – such as snow removal, leaf pickup and street sweeping – and will not need to tow vehicles if a snow emergency is declared.

“There has been a large amount of snowfall in the last few years, and vehicles stored on the streets make it difficult for our crews to keep the streets plowed and safe,” said Mark Workman, City of Pullman director of Public Works.

College Hill residents are being asked to park their vehicles off the street if space is available at their residence. If space are not available, two WSU parking lots have been identified as alternatives: the Crimson 3 lot at Colorado and Opal streets and the Red 3 lot at the bottom of College Avenue and Spring Street.

Parking permits will not be required in these lots during designated vacation periods:

* Thanksgiving vacation: Nov. 21-30
* Winter vacation: Dec. 12-Jan. 11
* Spring break: March 12-21
