If you enjoy fresh farm products, value-added farm foods, dried flowers, crafted farm products and more, the Pullman Fresh Farm Market will be paradise for you.
The new Wednesday-only market a WSU Organic Farm, Pullman Chamber of Commerce, Whitman County Department of Health cooperative effort will be located in the parking lot of Pullman’s Old Post Office Wine Gallery, 245 S.E. Paradise St.
It will start May 20 and continue every Wednesday through Oct. 28. Hours are 4:30-6:30 p.m.
All items sold — including wine and processed foods for which the vendors are active owners/operators of the business — are grown and/or produced locally. Also for sale will be artisan bread, fresh herbs and grass-fed beef. Jams, jellies, cider and other processed foods are welcome, as well.
Tammy Lewis, chamber executive director, said the market will give area farmers a mid-week sales location and residents a place to buy fresh products raised on the Palouse.
The WSU Organic Farm, managed by Brad Jaeckel, is the market’s anchor vendor and manager. The market will be used as a distribution point for customers in the farm’s Community Supported Agriculture program.
“We are excited to finally have a downtown Pullman pickup site for the CSA program,” Jaeckel said. “The farm will always bring extra produce for folks to buy off the table and we will be there every week,” he said.
The health department is using the market to promote healthy eating habits.
Limited vendor space is available. For additional information, contact the chamber at 334-3565 or here.
