Patrick Siler, a well-known Palouse artist and Washington State University professor, will exhibit a rare and elaborate ceramic piece, which has been more than a decade in the making, beginning Friday, Oct. 17, through Nov. 8.
The piece, “Reflections on a Ceramic Bowl,” measures approximately 7.5 feet by 14 feet.
The opening reception, which will also feature Siler’s drawings, will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday (Oct. 17) in Gallery II of the Fine Arts Building on the WSU campus.
Siler did the wet work on “Reflections on a Ceramic Bowl” in 1988 and fired it last January. He describes the work as “figurative” containing “colorful imagery.”
A WSU faculty member since 1973, Siler’s work varies from ceramics to drawing and painting, and has been shown at galleries across the country, including New York City.
