WSU’s marketing campaign receives eight national awards

Washington State University’s Here We Go brand marketing campaign is drawing national accolades.

The university’s first comprehensive marketing program in more than 15 years, Here We Go earned six Gold, one Silver, and one Bronze award at the 40th annual Educational Advertising Awards. Judges called out the strength of WSU’s integrated marketing campaign and the success of its social media and digital marketing efforts in particular.

The Educational Advertising Awards is the largest educational advertising awards competition in the country. This year, more than 2,000 entries were submitted from 1,000 colleges and universities from all 50 states and several foreign countries.

Judges called out the strength of WSU’s integrated marketing campaign and the success of its social media and digital marketing efforts.

The campaign, developed by University Marketing and Communications, is aimed at boosting awareness across the state of WSU as a leader among public universities and improving perceptions of the university system. Targeting Washingtonians, key audiences include the general public as well as prospective undergraduate students and the people they rely on for college advice. The campaign is available in Spanish as well.

The overall campaign was created and launched with funding from a one-time allocation from the Board of Regents.

BVK, a full-service brand agency, was selected via competitive bid to assist with the creative work and paid media for the campaign.

Planning for its second year is underway.
