Members of the WSU Board of Regents will join university leaders Saturday in Pullman to celebrate the forthcoming Champions Center.
The celebration is taking place at 3 p.m. inside the Bohler Athletic Complex Galleria. WSU leaders will discuss how the Champions Center will benefit student athletes, with tours of the soon-to-be renovated space following the program.
Once completed, the Champions Center will centralize WSU Athletics staff and resource in one building, providing a revitalized space for student athletes.
The WSU Board of Regents voted in January to move forward with the design phase of the project, with construction slated to begin in the winter of 2024. The project has received $5.8 million in gross cash contributions as of last November, with another $6.9 million in gross pledges outstanding in the next six years.
While a majority of regents are expected to attend the event on Saturday, the Board of Regents will not be convening a meeting nor taking any official action.
