More than 100 WSU faculty members from across the university system were recently promoted or received tenure and are being recognized as part of Showcase 2023.

More than two dozen faculty members were granted tenure this year, with dozens more scholars, researchers and scientists who’ve received promotions.

Among those who received promotions this year are three new Regents professors, a distinction available to no more than 30 WSU faculty members at a time who’ve served WSU for at least seven years and demonstrated the highest level of professional achievement.

  • Min Du, a professor and endowed chair in nutrigenomics and growth biology with the Department of Animal Sciences within the College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences
  • Brian French, the Berry Family Distinguished professor and director of Learning and Performance Research Center within the College of Education
  • Monica Kirkpatrick Johnson, a professor and chair of the Sociology Department within the College of Arts and Sciences

The complete list of faculty receiving tenure and promotions is available on the Showcase website.

Newly tenured or promoted WSU faculty will be among those recognized during the Celebrating Excellence Banquet on March 31. The event will begin at 5 p.m. and is being hosted inside Compton Union Building’s senior ballroom.
