A winter storm predicted to dump up to 10 inches of snow across the Palouse and elsewhere prompted WSU officials to suspend Wednesday classes and other normal operations on the Pullman campus.

All scheduled classes and labs are cancelled and only essential services, including student housing, dining and health services, will be provided. Only those WSU employees previously designated as essential to campus operations should report to work Wednesday, Feb. 5.

Emergency management officials announced the closure Tuesday evening a couple hours after snow began falling in Pullman. The National Weather Service, which issued a winter storm warning earlier in the day, advised of potentially hazardous travel conditions by Wednesday morning.
