Your invitation is almost here.

Beginning March 4, watch for your invitation from Information Technology Services to begin your Okta account setup. Users will establish accounts in preparation for the new network security changes coming in May.

Okta is the university’s new systemwide network authentication product. It is designed to provide more robust security tools and resources when accessing university data and applications.

Throughout March and April, email invitations will go out each week to roughly 10,000 students, faculty and staff across all campuses providing instructions for setting up the new, self‑service password recovery options including creating security questions and adding the individual user’s contact information.

Departments requiring Okta authentication for their existing applications can submit a request through ITS’ new self‑help portal at crimsonservicedesk.wsu.edu with a contact name, phone number, application name and application description. Once the request is received, a member of the Okta project team will reach out to the contact person with more information and instructions on how to begin testing for on‑boarding the department’s application(s).

More information is available on the ITS Okta webpage. Users can follow @itswsu for project updates on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Please direct all inquiries to the Crimson Service Desk, crimsonservicedesk@wsu.edu.
