WSU is aware of recent reports involving international students and faculty being detained at U.S. borders. We understand this is a challenging time. Please review the guidance below before traveling.
Carry Original Immigration Documents
All non-U.S. citizens must carry original immigration documents when traveling—both within the U.S. and internationally. This requirement is now actively enforced.
Acceptable documents include:
- Green Card (I-551)
- Employment Authorization Document (EAD)
- I-94 Arrival/Departure Record
- Travel Permits
Reconsider International Travel
If you are concerned about your current visa status, we strongly recommend not traveling internationally at this time
Know the Risks
Immigration enforcement has expanded its review process to include:
- Social media activity
- Minor legal violations (including traffic offenses)
