WSU, Olympic College unveil new engineering building

BREMERTON, Wash. – Washington State University and Olympic College are inviting the public to attend the opening celebration of its newly remodeled engineering building on Monday, Aug. 21.

Celebration activities include an opening ceremony, public tours and light hors d’oeuvres.

The event will take place 3-6 p.m. at 1720 Warren Avenue on Olympic College’s Bremerton campus.

To meet the growing industry need to educate more engineers, Washington State University currently offers two engineering programs with Olympic College.

Since 2009, WSU and OC-Bremerton has offered a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, which has graduated more than 100 students in the past six years. In 2015, the Washington State Legislature provided funding to expand WSU’s Electrical Engineering program to Bremerton in cooperation with Olympic College. In May 2018, the program will celebrate its first graduating class.
