Floyd pleased governor’s budget funds STEM, biofuel research

Floyd-E 2009 80EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a statement from Washington State University President Elson S. Floyd regarding Washington Gov. Jay Inslee’s budget proposal released on Tuesday, Dec. 17.

“We at Washington State University are pleased that the governor has submitted a supplemental budget that points to the future of higher education in our state. It includes an ongoing commitment to the STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) disciplines as well as funds to advance research in bioproducts and biofuels.

Overall, the governor’s budget reflects continued investment in higher education, for which we are grateful.”
