Oct. 24, 25, 26: Space industry networks, recruits

cougs-in-spacePULLMAN, Wash. – Representatives from three aerospace companies will promote career opportunities and faculty collaboration Monday-Wednesday, Oct. 24-26, at free, public events at Washington State University. Students interested in a career in the space industry are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes.

Oct. 24:

* Planetary Resources career information session, 4:30-6 p.m., Sloan Hall 175. Planetary Resources’ work to identify the most commercially viable near-Earth water-rich asteroids has led to development of transformative technologies that are applicable to global markets, including the agriculture, oil and gas, mining and insurance industries. Oct. 25:

* Blue Origin career information session, 12:15-1:30 p.m., Fulmer Hall 201. With a vision to seed an enduring human presence in space, Blue Origin has demonstrated success at rocket reuse – a key enabler to a future in which millions of people are living and working in space. See

* Cougs in Space panel discussion, 4:15-5:30 p.m., CUE 203, with reception to follow. Representatives from Blue Origin, Planetary Resources and Spaceflight Industries will lead discussion on the future of the industry and career opportunities.

Oct. 26:

* Planetary Resources and Spaceflight Industries student interview session, 8-9:30 a.m., Lighty 160. Spaceflight Industries’ satellite infrastructure, rideshare launch offerings, global communications networks and near real-time imaging platform assist organizations in getting into space and observing our planet.
