PULLMAN, Wash. – Fourteen faculty, six staff and seven graduate students were honored for outstanding achievement at the fourth annual College of Arts and Sciences Appreciation and Recognition Social.
Gerald Berthiaume, professor of music and acclaimed pianist, received the Distinguished Faculty award in recognition of his 27-year career as an educator, collaborator and performer. He recently released his second solo album, “Struck by Lightning,” on the peer-reviewed WSU Recordings label.
“Our annual awards celebrate exceptional individual accomplishments as well as our shared spirit of inquiry and commitment to excellence,” said Daryll DeWald, dean of the college and master of ceremonies for the event.
The College of Arts and Sciences is one of the largest academic and research colleges in the WSU system and includes more than 550 faculty, nearly 200 staff and more than 850 graduate students.
