Company honors engineering alumna as employee of the year

Erin-PattersonTACOMA, Wash. – Erin Patterson, a 2013 Washington State University alumna in materials science and engineering, recently was named Bradken’s Young Employee of the Year.

Every year Bradken, a global manufacturer and supplier of differentiated consumable and capital products, honors employees from each region who demonstrate the core values of the company. Patterson was selected from the Bradken America group.

She was honored for her part in the installation of an optical emission spectrometer in the melt shop, where she demonstrated high motivation, innovation and continuous improvement.

Patterson was first hired at the Tacoma site as a metallurgist intern. After two months, she was hired permanently.
