WSU vs. Wyoming CBI game hosted at Beasley Coliseum

PULLMAN, Wash. – Defeating San Francisco on Tuesday, Washington State University men’s basketball team (16-16) has advanced to the quarterfinals of the College Basketball Invitational and will host Wyoming (21-11), 7 p.m. Monday, March 19 at Beasley Coliseum.
 
WSU and Wyoming have met five times in the two schools’ histories, most recently during the 2005-06 season. The Cowboys hold a 4-1 advantage in the all-time series, but WSU won the last meeting Nov. 30, 2005 in its lone home game in the series.
 
The first two meetings occurred on back-to-back days, Dec. 17 and Dec. 18, 1946. Both games were in Laramie, Wyoming and resulted in Cowboy wins.
 
The Cougars got a win over San Francisco, 89-75, in the first round at San Francisco Tuesday, March 13, while the Cowboys defeated North Dakota State, 78-75, Wednesday, March 14, in Laramie.
 
Other quarterfinal matchups include Texas Christian University at Oregon State, Butler at Pennsylvania and Princeton at Pittsburgh. The four winners will advance to the semifinal round March 21.
 
Tickets are $18 for adults and $13 for youth, both general admission, and available to the public. WSU students with a sports pass get in free, while student tickets for nonsports pass holders cost $5. Season ticket holders are required to purchase tickets through their season ticket holder account online to receive early entry at 5:30 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. for the general public and non-ZZU CRU members.
