Seminar explores art, science of blended wines

 
 
RICHLAND – The art and science of balancing wines to create an award-winning blend will be explored March 3 at a consumer seminar held at WSU Tri-Cities.
 
This is a unique opportunity to taste the various component wines and then sample selected blends for both red and white wines. The seminar is led by Thomas Henick-Kling, Ph.D., director of the WSU Viticulture and Enology programs, and Micky French, winemaker at Barnard Griffin Winery.
 
The Blended Wines seminar starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Consolidated Information Center at 2770 Crimson Way, Richland. Cost is $35. Pre-registration is required at www.tricity.wsu.edu/wine or call 509-372-7606. Attendees must be at least 21 years old.
