Rebecca Suzanne ‘Rocky’ Beach

PULLMAN, Wash. – Rebecca Suzanne “Rocky” Beach, who worked for WSU Pullman from May 1987 to May 2017, passed away at her home in Pullman on Oct. 24, 2017.

beach rebeccaRocky was born Dec. 5, 1957, in Grangeville, Idaho, to Don and Larraine (Cole) Beach. The family moved to Tekoa, Wash., where she grew up and attended school. After graduating from Tekoa High School she attended Eastern Washington University, Gonzaga University and the University of Idaho.

Rocky began her career in custodial services, and at the same time became a loving mother who managed to work and raise her daughter. In 1988 she met her life partner Tom Parrish and they made their home together since that time.

Rocky worked for 30 years at WSU and was a custodial supervisor at the time of her retirement.

She enjoyed the outdoors and all it offered, especially camping, fishing and bird watching. Her goal was always to out fish Tom. She loved to travel and was a very creative person. Rocky enjoyed crafting and artwork throughout her life. She was an avid Cougar fan, always attending WSU sporting events.

She is survived by her life partner Tom Parrish at their Pullman home; her daughter Amanda Beach (Eduardo Estero); her two grandchildren Isiani and Zion; her sister Jennifer Beach and two brothers Ken and Kurtis Beach. Rocky was preceded in death by her parents.
