DOE Hanford’s efforts to immobilize radioactive waste into glass will be discussed Nov. 30

Jason Young, federal project director at DOE Hanford Office of River Protection, will discuss the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant mission to immobilize radioactive waste into glass during a talk set for Thursday, November 30, 3-4 p.m.

He will focus on the direct feed of the waste to the low activity waste facility. He will also describe how the Direct Feed Low Activity Waste approach at the Hanford Site will enable treatment as soon as 2022, as well as outline the cooperative efforts needed to support the operations.

The presentation will be at the East Building Auditorium 266 on the Tri-Cities campus.
