PULLMAN, Wash. – ROTC senior cadet Matthew Peterson recently completed “The 10 Toughest Days in the Army” – successfully graduating from the Sabalauski Air Assault School at Fort Campbell, Ky.
The school trains U.S. Army soldiers in helicopter-borne assault operations, sling load techniques and rappelling, culminating with a 12-mile road march.
“The air assault school allowed me to build my confidence in myself and in things I did not know I could accomplish,” said Peterson, a Washington State University student from Edmonds, Wash., who is majoring in criminal justice. After graduation and commissioning in May, he will join the Washington Army National Guard as an explosives ordnance disposal officer and pursue a career in law enforcement.
