Cougars return to Martin Stadium for Homecoming weekend

head shotPULLMAN, Wash. – Fresh off an upset conference win on the road, the Washington State University football team returns this weekend to celebrate Homecoming and take on another PAC-12 opponent at 1 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 17), when they host the Beavers of Oregon State University at Martin Stadium.

By mid-week, less than 800 tickets remained unsold. Remaining tickets can be ordered by calling 1-800-GOCOUGS.

The festivities will commence Friday night in Pullman, where all Cougar fans are invited to throw on their Crimson and Gray and enjoy the 2015 Homecoming Bonfire and pep rally beginning at 6 p.m. on Flag Lane.  Share your Cougar spirit with family and friends, meet WSU varsity athletes, have your picture taken with Butch, and cheer along with the WSU Cheer Squad and Crimson Girls.

Fans arriving between 10 a.m. and noon on Saturday may want to begin the festivities at the WSU Honors’ College Homecoming BBQ. Hosted by the Honors College and its Honors Student Advisory Council (HSAC), the pre-game meal offers alumni, students, faculty, staff, and the community a chance to enjoy burgers, chips, and soda–served at no charge. The event will be held near the WSU Honors Hall on NE Spokane Street. No reservations are needed.

tunnel2Also on Saturday, fans can participate in the Cougar Wine Connections Showcase Series, a wine tasting event held before each WSU home football game at the Brelsford WSU Visitor Center. Each event features one Cougar-connected winery/wine brand presented by winery representatives who pour their wines and share the story of their journey from Washington State University to the world of wine. This weekend’s event  will showcase Wawawai Canyon Winery, presented by Stacia and David Moffett. The event runs from from 10a.m. to 2p.m. Tickets are $5.

As always on home game weekends, Saturday’s events will include Kickoff at the CUB, featuring food and family-friendly entertainment in a festive atmosphere in the CUB senior ballroom beginning at 8 a.m. Attendees can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Palouse from the ballroom balcony, watch football games from around the country, enjoy Butch and the Cougar marching band and participate in numerous giveaways and activities.

The general area of Rogers Field to the west of Martin Stadium will be the site of a number of activities, on Saturday, including Cougar Mania, the corporate tent area; Cougville, a children’s play area complete with activities and inflatables; and the Cougar Den. Food and refreshments are available in all three locations.
