CNBC – Thomas Marsh, a professor of agricultural economics at Washington State University, told CNBC that contract hops prices have doubled and even tripled since the last USDA National Hop Report—a government study that last took place in 2012.

Science 2.0 – In the study, the essential oil killed several strains of Shiga toxin-producing E. coli, known to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as “non-O157 STEC.” The study looked at the top six strains of non-O157 STEC, said co-author Lina Sheng, a graduate student at Washington State University.
