Discrimination, sexual harassment training mandatory

PULLMAN, Wash. – As of June 1, all Washington State University employees are required to complete discrimination and sexual harassment prevention training.

In his May 23 letter to the university community, President Elson S. Floyd explained:

“Part of being a world-class university is providing a workplace environment where all individuals feel safe, valued and respected. Accordingly, WSU’s core values include a commitment to being an institution that demonstrates trust and respect for all persons and cultivates individual and institutional integrity in all that we do.  Sexual harassment and all forms of discrimination compromise the integrity of the university and destroy the trust and respect expected in the workplace.”
Those employed at the time of the announcempnt have until Jan. 4 to complete training; new employees have six months from their employment start date.
