International Education Week

November 14th – 18th is International Education Week!

International Education Week (IEW), a joint initiative of the U.S. Departments of State and Education, aims to “promote international understanding and build support for international educational exchange.”

At WSU, International Education Week is typically celebrated in the month of April in order to best accommodate students’ schedules and not conflict with Thanksgiving Break. This year, in an attempt to be more connected to the national event, the International Students’ Council has dedicated Wednesday, Nov. 16th as their “Pre-IEW.” All staff, faculty, students, and community members are encouraged to attend any of the following events:

Arabic Language Workshop: Nov. 16th, 1 – 2 p.m., International Center (CUB L46)

Cooking Asian Cuisine: Nov. 16th, 2 – 3 p.m., International Center (CUB L46)

Slumdog Millionaire movie: Nov. 16th, 6 – 8 p.m., International Center (CUB L46)

Remember, “Pre-IEW” is merely a taste of what’s to come during WSU’s International Education Week in April 2012!
