Invitation to Writing Across the Curriculum Workshop

Washington State University faces increased pressure to streamline its budget and make painful concessions, while simultaneously enjoying record enrollment numbers. This poses a particular problem for faculty who assign writing within their courses—whether at the General Education level or in the specialized Writing in the Major courses.

To provide support for this issue, the Writing Program at WSU invites you to a collaborative faculty workshop to discuss and design strategies for assigning, grading, and teaching writing with large class sizes in an effort to save time without sacrificing instructional quality; the workshop is especially geared toward examining writing from a critical thinking and learning perspective for students. We invite all instructional faculty– graduate students, lecturers, clinical and tenure-line faculty– as well as those generally interested in acquiring new methods, to join us.

The workshop will be held on Wednesday, November 30th from 2:30-4:30 p.m in Murrow East 307. Food and beverages will be provided. If interested, please send an RSVP to me by November 18th. For more information, please contact me at elizabeth.edwards@email.wsu.edu.
