WSU recruiting businesses for competition, career fair

VANCOUVER, Wash. – The College of Business at Washington State University Vancouver is accepting registrations from businesses interested in judging a professional sales competition or participating in a professional sales career fair.

Both events will be held Friday, Dec. 2 at WSU Vancouver in the Firstenburg Student Commons. The sales competition will be held from 11:15 a.m. – 5 p.m., followed by an awards ceremony. The career fair will be held from 3 – 5 p.m. Registration deadline for both events is Monday, Nov. 7 and registration for the career fair is $150.

Corporate representatives will be judges in selecting the student team that will represent WSU Vancouver in the national competition next March at Kennesaw State University near Atlanta, Ga. WSU Vancouver students have participated in the National Collegiate Sales Competition for the past six years. The Cougar team from Vancouver brought home the NCSC championship in 2007.

Judges will also benefit from seeing WSU Vancouver professional sales students in action and helping them launch their careers.

Businesses are also invited to host a booth at the WSU Vancouver College of Business’ third annual Meet the Firms: Professional Sales Career Fair. The career fair provides businesses with an opportunity to scout the up-and-coming sales talent. Priority will be given to organizations that offer long-term career prospects in professional sales.

It’s also a chance for corporate representatives to share their enthusiasm for a career in professional sales and help WSU Vancouver students gain a more in-depth understanding of sales as a career field.
