WSU presents ‘Forbidden Broadway’s Greatest Hits’

PULLMAN, Wash. – Satirical parodies and hilariously witty spoofs of famous Broadway legends and shows, past and present, will take the stage as the Washington State University School of Music presents its 10th summer musical production, “Forbidden Broadway’s Greatest Hits.”

Shows will be at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, July 22-23 and 29-30, in Bryan Hall theater. Tickets will be available at the door one hour before the performance. They cost $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens.

The show will feature music from Broadway shows including “Les Miserables,” “Wicked,” “Hairspray,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Chicago,” “Cats” and more. Created and written by Gerard Alessandrini, “Forbidden Broadway’s Greatest Hits” will be directed at WSU by Julie Anne Wieck, associate professor of music.
The cast consists of eight WSU students: Angela Brown, Alyssa Erickson, Amanda Guay, Hillary Bellish, Erin Turner, Anjuli Dodhia, Sam Helmer and Kyle Ross. They will be accompanied on piano by graduate student Rachel Cutler. 
The performance is sponsored by WSU Campus Involvement and Summer Session.
