Melanoma researcher gets $100,000 from Cosmo magazine

VANCOUVER, Wash. – A scientist at Washington State University Vancouver was awarded the Cosmopolitan/Melanoma Research Foundation Practice Safe Sun Grant. Cynthia Cooper, assistant professor of molecular genetics, is the first to receive the $100,000 award.
 
The grant will allow Cooper to further explore new aspects of melanoma biology and treatments that may ultimately lead to a cure for skin cancer.
