There’s still time to sponsor scholarship golf tournament

 
PULLMAN, Wash. – Businesses and individuals still have time to sign on as sponsors for the 2011 Jess Ford of Pullman Hardhat Classic Golf Tournament to benefit Washington State University’s Facilities Operation Scholarship Fund.
 
Some of the opportunities available include:
 
* Hole sponsor – $250: Signage on course at sponsored hole. Listed as sponsor on table flyers and tournament rules packet. Tournament fees paid for one player from sponsoring entity.
 
* Longest putt sponsor – $125: Signage on course at the longest putt hole. Listed as sponsor on table flyers and tournament rules packet.
 
* Closest to the pin sponsor – $125: Signage on course at the closest to the pin hole. Listed as sponsor on table flyers and tournament rules packet.
 
* Table sponsor – $50: Listed as table sponsor on table tents at lunch. Listed as sponsor on table flyers and tournament rule packet.

Tournament Aug. 13
The tournament will be Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Palouse Ridge Golf Club, 1260 NE Palouse Ridge Dr., Pullman. Check-in begins at 7 a.m., with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
Each player’s participation fee of $135 includes 18 holes of golf, golf cart rental, a small bucket of practice balls, a bag tag with Palouse Ridge and WSU Cougar logo, a yardage book, a sleeve of Nike logoed golf balls, a hat, lunch provided by Banyan’s restaurant at the golf course, and the chance to win a new 2011 Ford Escape XLT Automatic 4WD by making a hole in one.

Scholarship support doubles
Of every participation fee, a portion will go towards the scholarship fund, some of which may be added to the endowment principal. For more information about how the tournament contributes to the Facilities Operation Scholarship Fund, see here.
   
For 2011-12, the scholarship committee awarded scholarships totaling $6,000, a 200 percent increase in support to students from the 2010-11 academic year.
 
Students who received scholarships for the coming year are: Jordan Bowker, Caitlyn Dimock, Brianna Fischer, Kyle Kamerrer, Preston Moore and James Larsen.
