King-Smith composes winning saxophone quartet

PULLMAN – Ted King-Smith, a master’s degree candidate and graduate teaching assistant in the School of Music, is the winner of the Sinfonian Saxes Saxophone Quartet Composition Competition.
 
His saxophone quartet composition “Echoes” was selected as the winning piece and was performed April 15 at the University of Delaware by the Sinfonian Saxes Quartet from the Xi Mu Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
 
King studies composition with associate professor Ryan Hare and has studied with instructor Aleks Sternfeld-Dunn. He studies saxophone with professor Greg Yasinitsky.
