WSU Veterinary College Hosts Open House for Moms

PULLMAN, Wash.—The Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine is hosting a special Open House for Mom’s Weekend, Saturday, April 9.

Events at the veterinary college kick off at 7:30 a.m. at Bustad Hall with late registration for the annual Canine Canter, a three-mile fun run/walk in which dogs bring their owners along for some exercise and fun.  Cost is $20 on the day of the event and includes a commemorative t-shirt if there are enough.  Complete details are available at: http://www.vetmed.wsu.edu/clubs/k9/canter/index.aspx .

Proof of dog identity identification tags and proof of rabies vaccinations must be provided for each dog, with annual combination vaccinations recommended.  All animals will be on a leash and under control at all times. 

The Open House and tours of the WSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital begin at 10 a.m.  Refreshments and giveaways will be available throughout the day until 3 p.m.

Rounding out the day at one of the nation’s finest veterinary college will be opportunities to see agility dogs at 10 a.m., military working dogs beginning at noon, an anatomy quiz on a live, painted horse and cow models, Teddy bear surgery clinic, ultrasound Jell-O, hospital tours, and much more family friendly fun.
