WSU Police arrest student on second degree rape charges

PULLMAN – Ryker L. Edwards, an 18-year-old Washington State University student, was arrested on Sunday, March 6, for rape in the second degree and for unlawful imprisonment.
 
This followed an investigation of a sexual assault in a WSU residence hall by the WSU Police Department.
Police initially received report of the sexual assault in the early morning hours of March 6. The investigation showed the assault took place in more than one room and that Edwards blocked the exit of one of the rooms with a chair.
 
Edwards came to WSU police shortly after 9 p.m. on March 6 and was arrested for rape second degree and unlawful imprisonment. He was transported to the Whitman County Jail in Colfax.
