Free pesticide licensing classes taught in Spanish

ROCHESTER – A free, five-evening pre-license pesticide applicator training course taught in Spanish will be 6-9 p.m. Monday-Friday, March 28-April 1, at Rochester High School.

Those who pass an exam at the end of training will qualify for a private pesticide applicator license. Those who take the exam will pay a $33 license application fee at the time of the testing. Those who elect not to take the exam will receive a pesticide handler training verification card.

Previously licensed pesticide applicators can earn recertification credits by attending the free March 28 or 29 class.

While it’s not required, a Spanish language manual that covers information presented in the training can be ordered through the WSU Publications office. Call toll free 1-800-723-1763 and request publication Misc0126S, “Manual para Aplicadores Privados de Pesticidas.” The cost is $16.50 plus tax and shipping.
