Faculty asked to alert students; deadline March 25

PULLMAN – Faculty members are asked to encourage students to apply for full-tuition scholarships from the Phi Beta Kappa scholastic honorary for the 2011-12 academic year. The deadline is 6 p.m. Friday, March 25.
 
High achieving undergraduates from a wide range of majors are eligible, said Kim Holapa, chair of the scholarship committee of the local Gamma chapter and director of development in the College of Education. Awards will cover the cost of resident tuition for the year. In recent years, two to five awards have been made.
 
According to Holapa, eligible students must:
  • Have senior class standing at WSU for the 2011-12 academic year
  • Have a major in the colleges of Liberal Arts, Sciences or Communication; in the School of Economic Sciences; or in human development, neuroscience or molecular biosciences
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.6 or higher through fall 2010.
